Halloween

Image
Been a busy day and the girls are so exhausted. They are fighting and yelling all over the house, they need to just go to bed. Kami went a s a pink poodle (old navy) and Kezri we mad eup to be the tooth fairy. They had a blast. We only went around our house and then the "castle street" as the girls call it but they of course made out like a bandit. Now to only find a way to get rid of it all before I eat it. Hey maybe Grandma needs some at her house this weekend.

#2

Seems to be our number lately. I was asked to speak again in church. Actually lets be real what really happened was the 1st counselor called me on Saturday night to ask me to bear my testimony the next day since one of the speakers had cancelled on him. Instantly I feared 15 unplanned minutes in the primary room so I volunteered to prepare a talk. I think it went over real well for a Saturday night prepared. It was a simple subject. It was about teaching our children. So that makes #2 talk in 6 years, but all within 3 months. David got a call back from Morning Star Boys Ranch and again he was #2. They said that it was really really close but they offered the position to someone else. So again a #2. There are days I wonder what the big plan is but I do understand that there is one and that I just have to wait it out and something will happen. Kalaree has made a good friend, I am so excited for her. This friend spent all weekend over here. She helped make Kezri's Halloween ...

Life....

I guess it is time that I blog again. Been a while. There has been stuff going on around here. Kalaree has finished up softball and started volleyball. She has also started a math thing too in order to increase her math scores. She has to pass that dang math WASL. Kezri has been doing jump rope club and will be doing a camp this Saturday that is both dance and jump rope. She is such a funny girl that I don't know if it is that she likes jump rope or if it is that she wants to do it with her friends. Kami is doing fine in preschool she has a ton of friends there. David had an interview yesterday at Morning Star Boys Ranch as a residential counselor. It is for the swing shift of 3-11. Works out pretty well with our schedule because it isn't nights but it would eliminate the needs for a lot of day care. HE doesn't know what it pays since he decided to wait to see what they would offer rather than turn the whole thing into a bargaining. He did get called back today...

Fall pictures.

Oh how I wish I had a really nice camera. I have the one I want picked out and have even gone to buy it a couple of times but then shy away when it cost nearly $600. But it is days like today when I really wish I had it. I know how to pose and I know about light and what not and I have the photo editing program so really what is left but the camera. But then again $600 for a camera is really a lot, it would be one thing if I was going to be using it for business but I am no where near ready to do something like that. However I can see me doing photography on the weekends and during the summer as a way to raise some extra cash. Anyways, today the girls and I headed down tot he park to get some shots of them for fall. I love the colors and the warm clothes. Figured I would share them with you all.

Out of the mouths of babes.

So appartently to Kami it really is horrible to be a parent. I was driving her to a meeting at her preschool and this was our conversation: Kami: I feel really bad for you and daddy, mom. Me: Why is that Kami? Kami: Because you have to get out of bed to answer the phone. Who would of thought to answering the phone would be the worst thing that we had to experience as parents? We don't have much planned for this weekend. We figure it is time to stick around the house. I am hoping to get the girls out this weekend to get some great fall pictures with all the changing leafs. David picked up a bale of hay and the pumpkins today so we plan to get down the Halloween decoration and to get them all set up. I can't wait to get the front porch cleaned up and some great looking stuff on it. We also are having a no spending challenge this weekend. I know sounds interesting doesn't it. We decided that we would see what we could get done this weekend if we refuse to spend any mo...

Normal everyday life.

This is exactly what I wanted. Really not much going on but the normal everyday day to day stuff. I made two batches of apple butter this last weekend. My girls love it so much and it is always good to have around. Also I made 4 loaves of bread that lasted us all week. I may just do that again this weekend. So much nicer having homemade bread with our sandwiches in our lunches. I am thinking I will also do another batch of salsa this weekend. I love it so much but for some reason this year it was way to hot for me. That will make me have a hot batch and a mild batch again this year. So this year I have managed to can, 2 batches of apple butter, 1 batch of salsa, 1 batch of root beer jelly, and 1 batch of cherry coke jelly. Way more than I have been able to do in the past. Kalaree had another game this last week. I was able to make this one. She did fine, you can really tell that this is her first time ever playing. She needs lots of work on the fundamentals, her whole tea...
