Presentation

We have been working with the school nurse at Kezri's school regarding her and tourette's. At the beginning of the school year the nurse was going to go into her class and discuss with them what tourettes is and go from there. However, due to one thing or another it hadn't happened. Well since everything that is going on Kezri has asked that she do a PowerPoint on tourettes to her class. We spent this weekend working it all out and putting it together. She gets to present it on the 9th of February. I am so proud of her because this really is an accomplishment for her. She hasn't wanted to embrace this at all and now she seems to be willing to open up about it. Kalaree is going through withdrawals. Her Ipod decided yesterday to quit. She can't get it to register and all that good stuff. We plan to take it into the apple store and see what it will take to fix it but still. We can't get to Portland till Saturday and that is the closest Apple store. She was going th...

Hair, Hair, and more Hair

Image
We tried a new hair style today in Kami's hair. She hates to have her hair done but at least she only sheds a ton of tears as I do it. I think it turned out quite nice. This is what it looks like up close on one side. Kezri and I decided to try to be crafty. We made flower hair clips to wear in the girls hair. It was a lot of fun to do and Kezri only got one boo boo from the hot glue gun. Good thing I was smart enough to have her work with the low temp while I used the High temp one. Sunday Hair

I found this website that has awesome hair dos for girls. So today since we have late church we ended up doing all three girls hair. Kalaree: Kezri: Yes Kezri's hair is very long now. Kambrya: The funny thing is that a gal in our ward stopped me to ask if I got hte idea from the website since that is where she gets the idea for her daughters hair. The joys of the Internet.

Math Kezri's way!!!

I swear the mind of writers tend to go to places we would never think. While Kezri does not struggle in school academically at all, math is not her strong point. So recently she decided that she needed "poems" to help her remember her multiplication facts. Eights have been rather tough for her. So she came to me last night with her newest "poem" and I just had to share it here. "I ate and I ate till I got sick on the floor, that's how I know 8 x 8 is 64!" I swear she is just wired wrong sometimes. But hey if it works so be it.

My Prince Charming...

drools in his sleep, leaves the cap off the toothpaste and squeezes it from the middle, he leaves the toilet seat up occasionally, adjusts the seat, steering wheel and mirrors in my car to drive 4 blocks and leaves it for me to fix, has to have a list for the grocery store or he will forget at least half of what he went for and come home with twice what we need, falls asleep the minute he sits down anywhere, especially in a movie, and the worse thing is that he is a saint. He would do absolutely anything I ask of him. He brings me lunches at work, makes dinner, cleans out the fridge when asked, runs to the store for one stupid item that I forgot and then goes back a second time for the other item I didn't know I forgot. He loves his daughters and treats them like princesses and me like a queen. He puts up with my hair brained ideas and multiple crafts. He allows me to rant when I want and he calls my mommy for me when I cry (He is a guy already.) He loves my friends because they ar...

The Next Project

Again from the web site that gave us the knee high sock idea came an idea that Kalaree wanted to try. She had some fish net tights that were very holey so we cut them off and made gloves for her to wear. Amazing how much more wear she will get out of these. In fact they are going to the dance tonight with her.

HI HO HI HO, it's back to school we go.

AAAWWWW to be back to work. Well, maybe not. I am so tired. I forgot that I needed to readjust my schedule back so today I am just dragging. The girls were excited though. Kami is star of the week this week in her class and so she got to take her poster board in today and later this week she is responsible for the guessing jar. We have to fill this jar with items that she has to count and then the class guesses. Kalaree, Kezri and Kami all bought new outfits with their gift cards and cash from Christmas and Birthdays. So they were all decked out and ready to head out early. Kalaree actually made it on time to seminary. That was a feat in itself. I managed to get little to no sleep last night so I am running on diet Pepsi and chocolate and peanut butter cups today. I really need to get some sleep tonight. The readjusting back is such a pain.Good thing I don't have a huge caseload the first few days back. But oh to sleep. I finished the girls birthday dresses. Didn't get to the C...

Waste not want not...

So I was on one of my numerous crafting blogs the other day and saw this really great idea. Knee high socks I immediately dug (they were buried in the bottom of the girls closets) out old tights and created knee high socks from this tutorial. I love wild and crazy tights so the girls have had many over the years and once they out grew them they were just thrown out but not any more. Kami loves them. Kezri wants to turn some of her now tights into some. Too bad hand me down tights now fit Kami. But really what a better way to reuse something. Get the most out of it so to say. Here is our finished products.
