So on our way out the door to go bowling we found a baby bird that had fallen out of the nest. The thing was so sweet. I called a bird store and they told me to put it in a box, tall in a tree and the mom would come back. So I picked it up, took pictures of course, let the girls pet it and put it in a box and place it up high. Then off to bowling we went. Our family won't be winning any olympic event in bowling any time soon. But we had fun at least. david scored a huge score of 80 then I came in second with 74, Kami was third (between the leg queen) at 68, Kalaree at 52 and Kezri at 21. Kalaree eventually switched to between the leg and Kezri refused to that is how Kalaree out scored Kez. Kalaree had all gutter balls when she tried to bowl right. Kez did too but at least she was trying. They had cosmic bowling which means black lights and funky colored bowling balls. The girls had a blast. Even when Kami face planted and got a bloody nose she was right back up for he...

Marshmellow Fluff.

Image
David took me out last night to celebrate my new job. We really just went out to dinner and then drove around and talked about future plans. This morning I got Melvin into the groomers. He was looking rather shabby. Now he looks like marshmellow fluff. While Mel was getting groomed I was able to take Kami with me. Her and I got to share an old fashion milkshake (one of the best I have ever had) at an old fashion diner. we even sat at the bar in the swivel chairs. She thought she was hot stuff. Once we got home Kalaree and I went to get our nails done. Kalaree has been dying to get her toes painted again. I created a monster that loves pedicures. Hehehehe!!! By time we got home from that the girls wanted to head to the pool so off we went to there. Now it sounds like after dinner we may be out the door again to go bowling as a family. Our neighbor works at a local bowling alley and he said right now they are running a great summer deal. Saturdays you pay $10 per lane per ho...

Got the job.

Just a short post to let everyone know that I was offered the Medical Lake job today. I still need to talk with my current director and let her know. I am just bouncing out of my skin that things are starting to move in the right direction.

Doctor Appointments, Dentist Appointment and Job Update.

Kalaree had her well child check and her sports physical. I can't believe that she is old enough now to play school sports. She got an okay to play school sports. The doctor is still concerned about the weight so we have an appointment with an endocrinologist next month as well as a dietician. Other than that see is doing great. All three girls had their dental cleaning and not a single one had any cavaties. Kezri got a couple of her 6 year molars resealed to help prevent against cavities but other than that another clean bill of health. I got a phone call today from the director at Cheney and she said that she can't promise me full time yet but before I except the position at Medical Lake to please call her. Then not two minutes later Bill (director at Medical Lake) called and asked me to come in for an interview because he wants to beat Cheney to the punch. So I ran into Medical Lake today and did that. He said he would let me know this afternoon. So I have been sitti...

Camp Tucannon.

Another year of family camping is over. As fun as getting together with the whole Opheikens clan is I am so glad to be home and clean again. This year we went south to just above Walla Walla. The site was absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough to have our camp site on the creek. There was also a river running along the other side of the campsite just across the road. There were butterflies everywhere. It only rained one night and it was so nice that it waited till everyone was in bed before it began. We were also lucky in that for the first two days there was additional children around for the girls and the cousins to play with. Kezri ran off with a little girl by the name of Amy. Jared and Braidey got to play with a boy by the name of Lance. After the first two days the camp site was empty. It was just our group and one other group way on the other side of the camp. When it came to craft time both Chessica and Tess did a great job. Chessica had the kids tye dye shirts and...

How Fast Things Change.

I have to go back a day since things have been so hectic. Yesterday, I had to run into Cheney to return a test kit I had forgotten was in my trunk. Kami had been complaining of her tummy hurting and I chalked it up to just being hungry. Well, she of course proved me wrong by throwing up all over the car and herself while in Cheney. So wile I ran my errands David cleaned her up and striped her down. Thank goodness Kezri had worn a jogging suit (I know middle of summer and yet the girls has to wear things that are way to warm.) Kezri gave Kami the jacket to wear so she wasn't totally exposed. That of course changed all our plans of spending the day doing all of our errands for camp (you know, Costco for food, Walmart for flashlights, etc.) We came home. On the way home I told David I think I should check my work emails, since I hadn't checked them since leaving for summer. Who would of thought that one little thought could totally change my whole week? In my Medical Lak...

Girls lastest pictures.

Image
A friend of ours is building up her photography business and she needed models for her web page. She did such a great job. I love how she was able to catch the girls personality in the pictures. Kalaree: Kezri: Kambrya: The girls together: Enjoy!!!

Canceled Trip.

Unfortunately, David and Kezri weren't able to go on their trip. They were all packed and had picked up the rental car and were 10 minutes outside of Moses Lake, where they were picking up Veronica when Grandpa Mike called and informed them that his leave from work had been cancelled and that they wouldn't be able to fly down. Kezri was highly upset but soon rebounded when she got home and was able to go to the pool with friends and then able to spend the night with another friend. The plan is now that sometime this summer David and her or even the whole family will make a trip over to Seattle to visit them. The cancelling of the trip may of been a good thing. David is now able to study for a test he has to take for a job at the city of Spokane. Plus their is also a possibility that he may be able to get into another possible job testing this week rather than waiting till July to do it. We will have to see how that turns out. It changes up a few of my plans but I hadn...

Summer Break.

Image
What a way to start of the summer break. Kalaree had her 6th grade graduation yesterday. It was a nice ceremony. It is hard to believe that she is growing up so fast. I got one good picture of her but am having problem uploading it from my cell phone (forgot the camera, again.) Kalaree is getting ready to go to girls camp next week. I am done with work till August. It is so hard to believe that I am really working right now. I love that things are going so well. I am actually looking forward to getting back to Sunset in the fall and being able to make a difference out there. Plus with a new principal coming in things will be so different. David and Kezri leave today for California. Kezri is so excited. She has been waiting for this for a long time. There trip plans have changed a bit since Mike and Jean are now moving back to Washington. They will be in California till Tuesday and then they get to go on a road trip back to Washington. Kami is a little upset about dad leaving b...

This week in a nutshell...

Image
This week seemed to fly by. Monday: I worked at my internship. Mikaela called me as I was driving home to tell me she had the keys to her new house. So I ran over there to check it out for the first time. Getting home shortly after 6 pm. Tuesday: Had work and then David and I met Mikaela and Charles at their new house to help move in a piano. It took forever, since they moved in a new stove, refrigerator and the piano and then moved out a stove. David had a priesthood leadership meeting that night and he got home just in enough time to throw on his suit and head out the door. Wednesday: Work again. David found out that he didn't get the Buck Knife job. They were concerned with his lack of experience, seems to be the running problem with him finding work. He has a couple other application out. One in particular to Eastern State Hospital as a HR coordinator. Hopefully something will come along soon. Thursday: I worked way late. The psych are trying to get in our collaboration time be...

Oh well...

I got my praxis scores back on Saturday. I have been sitting on them to decide what I want to do. I passed based on Washington but not based on National standards and I have to pass based on both. So I will be retaking the test. The problem is that the test isn't until August so I will have to wait till then to do it. Totally stinks but oh well. Seems to be how my life goes sometimes huh? Seems to be that we goes through lots of ups and downs in life and today may just be one of those downs. I am glad in a way that I did but I am also kind of bummed. It gets hard sometimes to be so close but to feel like life is so far away. I am so glad that I have a job but until I graduate the pay really stinks. So I have to graduate before the end of summer, yet now I have to retake this test. I want to buy a house so bad. I am tired of living in this tiny apartment, yet I know that for us this is the best we can do for now and waiting will bring bigger and better things. I wish that David coul...

Kalaree

Image
12 years ago today Kalaree made her way into our lives. She started out as a 6 pound 14 ounce baby and now is a beautiful young lady. She was fast to do everything. She walked at 9 months (more like ran.) She attended preschool at the Wee Chiefs program for two years, where she was the life of the party. Everyone loved her, it wasn't unusual for kids to be fighting over who got to play with Kalaree. Kindergarten was at Discover elementary. She struggled with reading but quickly picked that up in first grade which was in Spokane at Franklin elementary. She has completed the rest of her grades at Franklin and now looks forward to moving onto the middle school. Her talents include, playing the violin, baking, acting and hanging out with sisters and friends. Kalaree has a huge love of animals. She can be found holding and training her rats, loving on the dog or cat and occasionally braiding a horses tail (though not ever on a horse.) She has blest us almost every day with her love of...

Birthday Prep.

David and I spent all day yesterday running all over town getting things ready for Kalaree's birthday party for today. I didn't post last night since after all that running around I was wiped and crashed. We finally settled on a gift for her. It isn't really big but at least I think she will enjoy it. I still have Costco shopping to do this morning and to pick up a few last minute stuff. Kalaree has gotten all excited and now that her presents are wrapped and sitting on the living room table makes it that much harder for her to contain herself. I will have more to post tonight after the party. Have a great day.
