New Year.

Oh have we been having fun around here. Our family started a new tradition last year. I couldn't wait to have the ham till New Years day so we made it on New Year's Eve and then had Chinese on New Year's day. So we again did that this year, since our last year was such a good year for us. Now hopefully this will keep up this trend. We ate around 2. It was really good. Then aunt Chessica and Braidey got here around 3 and we headed out to First Night Spokane. First Night Spokane is an all night party downtown. We started by parking in the Arena's parking lot and taking the bus, which I forgot can be such a treat for those little ones over to the convention center to do the kids crafts. Braidey loved to ride the bus. At the convention center they had a ton of performances and crafts for the kids to do as well as face painting. I stood in line for 2 hours for this particular face painting artist that did a phenomenal job.

I waited while David and Chessica ran the girls around to do all the different crafts. They made wands, capes, hats, drums, decorated night lights, etc. We got lucky and ended up being the very last group of kids that this particular artist painted. Kezri had a butterfly, Kami picked to be a bunny and Braidey asked to be a puppy. We left there and made it just in time to the firework show at Riverfront park.

We had the best spot ever right under the fireworks. After that we headed over to crescent court where the kids were able to run around in a room filled with bubble wrap,

write on a wall that was lined with black paper, watch Scottish Dancers, make a crown of flowers and listen to the Renaissance fair sing and Kami and Braidey dancing together.

We got very lucky and ran into a set of Mimes in our walking around and Kami and one of the mimes ended up in a sword fight since Kami had a balloon sword from the convention center. Kami cut off the mimes hand and then the other mime and him started going at it. It was a great laugh to watch them go through this act. They were great too allowing us to take a picture of them with the kids.

We then went out to the park and watched the snowboarders and after that we decided that it was getting late and that we needed to head and get something to eat. We caught the bus again back tot eh van and then headed to Applebees for half price appetizers. We got home right around 10 o'clock and sent the kiddos off to bed. Chessica and I ended staying up till 3 am talking and then up today at 10 to head to Joanns to get buttons and the dollar store so Chessica could get some things for her primary bag. After that we headed to the Museum of Arts and Culture with the kids. That was a blast too. The exhibit was sports and the kids were fascinated that the items were actual items worn or used by the actual athlete. The kids had a blast together. Kami and Braidey are like two old married couple. The crafts were great and the company was fun. I am really glad that Braidey and Chess was able to make it up for the fun.
