House hunting
We went to look at houses today. We had three that we felt were in our price range and with either enough bedrooms or the ability to make it into enough bedrooms. The first house was an absolute not. Tiny tiny tiny kitchen. No dishwasher. It was a 4 bedroom and 2 bath but the rooms were small and it needed a bunch of work. Plus it was in an interesting part of town, not necessarily bad but right across the street from a manufactured home park.
The second house was in the new houses development. It was in the first phase of it, so the home was a little older but it was the original model homes so it was full of upgrades. The kitchen was small but definately bigger from the kitchen that we have now. This home is a four bedroom 2 bath. It had both a living room and a large family room downstairs. The family room downstairs has a door on it so it could be closed to keep the noise in. The master bedroom is downstairs, but the bedroom upstairs had a door into the hall bath and a walk in closet so it could be used as a master if needed. The home had white wall sbut it wasn't like we would have to paint to move in. The only real problem with the house was the yard was not fenced. But definitely could be fenced easily. The girls LOVED this home. They weren't even fighting over who would get which rooms. They had each of their rooms picked out and begging us to buy the house.
We then looked at a third house. This one was my favorite with the pictures, but it had some crazy paint job things going on. Lavender in one room, painting around furniture so there are furniture outlines on the wall. The master bedroom was dark blue (think Jake's room in high school) and the bath was a lavender with burgundy sponge on top. The upstair's room was yellow, which of course Kami loved but the yellow was so bright you didn't need to even turn on the light. Lots of little damage throughout. No outlet covers on anything, holes in doors that would have to be replaced. This house was only a three bedroom three bath but the basement was unfinished and a fourth bedroom would just need to be sheetrocked in and a window added. Plus for some reason they removed the carpet from the downstair's bedroom and that would have to be replace. The back yard also sloped towards the house and there was not a wall in the dining room where we could put the hutch. I LOVED the kitchen that really was the biggest seller of this house but it did not come with a fridge.
So right now this is the top contender. Of course we aren't doing anything right away, but so far this is the one that the girls LOVE and I don't have anything I don't like about it other than I would prefer more entertaining potential but definitely do able.
