Flu and Cookie Crusader

I was out of work last week with the flu. It was so nice to just lay in bed and sleep. Especially during those hours that the girls were in school. However, of course that means my work load just double at work since I missed 2 1/2 days. (I went in one day for a 1/2 day to meet with a parent.)

Kalaree has started to love baking. Her speciality is cookies. She makes a new one every night. Isn't really conducive with a diet but hey who can turn down a really good cookie, right? She is quite talented with them too.

We have started car pooling for Young Women's. I drop them off and another mother picks them up. I crack up laughing because of course we have our "driving songs" which means volume up and singing at the top of our lungs. But it makes the commute so much nicer.

Other than that we really are living a rather boring life. Not that I am complaining. I love the get up go to work come home and settle in for the night routine that we are embracing here. I will try herder to post more. This month really just got away from me.

Now this is by no means a buy these exact thing list. I figured I would gives some basic ideas and you can run from there. I am really getting into the shabby chic look for my kitchen. As you noticed in a previous post I have gotten a few things but I have a few more things I would love to have. These are just few. I like the white and the decorative look. LOVE CRAIGSLIST

Since the new house has a room for each of the girls we ran into a slight problem. Basically how do you make two beds into three and one dresser into three. So I jumped on Craigslist this morning and found two twin size mattresses for $10 each and then another person had 2 box springs for $5 for both. I also found two dressers, nice ones at that for $20 and $40. So I furnished two rooms for $85. We already have a twin bed frame. So I figured I will keep my eyes open for another twin bed frame and keep the bunk beds together so that we have a spare bed for visitors. YES, I expect everyone to come stay with us at least once, we are the cool people. Kalaree is going to refinish (paint) one of the dressers and the bed frame that we have now for her beehive project. How cool is that. Not only does she now have a dresser but she also now has her beehive project to do. WOO HOO!!!!! I am really quite proud of myself to get all this stuff for such a great price and now I don't have to worry...

LOVE craigslist.

I was doing my usual cruise through craigslist tonight when I stumbeld upon a find. A family in a neighboring town is moving and needed to get rid of their loveseat. Slightly sunfaded is how they discribed it but it was free. Well to my surprise when I scrolled down to look guess what I found.... Yup the exact match to our living room set. It is sunfaded, it even looks purple in spots. But hey ours is not in the best of shape either so who cares. So now we finally have enough seats in our living room to have everyone sit without someone being on the floor or a kitchen chair.
