Bad news.

David got a letter in the mail today informing him that they were going to withdrawal the conditional hire from Airway Corrections Center. No explanation was given as to why just that he was no longer on the hire list. This is so frustrating, we both had this feeling that he was suppose to work there, but then things like this happen. He still hasn't heard anything from the juvenile probation officer job and I am trying to stay positive but this is really starting to wear on me and on David. The frustrating part is that we want to move on. We want to buy a house and to do all that grow up stuff and we just aren't sure why things are not moving any faster in David finding work. It is nights like this that really question my faith. David is being real strong and just keeps reminding me that his patriartical blessing says he will find employment and so I guess all we can do is trust. I worked on some decorations for my office today. I had boards left over from Kalaree's...

HI HO, HI HO, Its off to work I go.

Well I started back. I spent Monday rearranging and organizing all the psych stuff at the central office. Candace (the other school Psych) and myself got our desk arranged and then we sat down to start ordering stuff. It is so nice to be able to just order and not have to go through this whole committee process. We ordered our chairs, a new test, and protocols to tests that we currently use(it is going to feel like Christmas.) My desk looks rather pathetic. Candace has been teaching for 30 years, so she has all the cool office stuff. Me, on the other hand am starting from scratch. I am sure by the end of the year it will look good but still I have two offices and nothing cool to put in them. Tuesday was my new member day which was great. It was rather weird since I had interned there I knew everyone already and had actually gone to lunch with a couple of them the previous year. Which was funny because I was back in the back of the room and they were all talking to me (yes the...

A week with Braidey

Image
We had Braidey this week and Kalaree went to stay with Grandma and Grandpa O. It was a nice time. Kami and Braidey do get along quite well and I got a lot of laughs out of their conversations. Here is a sample of one from the other day: (Not sure what was said before this to start this conversation but this is the part I heard.) K: Braidey, if my arm turns black I have to go to the hospital. B: You could go to the doctor. K: No it would have to be the hospital. B: Doctors are the hospital. K: No hospitals are where you go when you get hit by a car or you need apple juice. (The only two times Kami has gone has been when she was hit by the car or when she got dehydrated from vomiting.) B: Well at my hospital they are doctors. K: Our doctor is at her office not at the hospital. B: Yea so!!!! It then went on to be this whole one up thing. I was just sitting there wondering when her arm would turn black and where that came from. We did have a lot of fun while Braidey was here. We start...

Weekend Wrap-up.

The primary activity went well. We didn't have a alrge turnout but it was still nice. We just did those old childhood games. We played "catch the bacon," "jump the river," "tic tac toe (human)," and "duck duck goose." We served otter pops as a refreshment. Super easy and really fun. Then that night we had a girl's night out at Applebee's. About ten women showed up and we all just sat around and talked. It was a blast. I so needed to get out and spend some time without kids and to also relax after all the stress of the research. David and Kezri made it in on time on Sunday and it was so good to see them. I really missed my Kezzy girl. She was wearing the cutest outfit too. She really did get some great school clothes this year too. Grandma Jean made allt hree girls very pretty quilts. Kami's was yellow, purple, blue and pink, Kezri's was pink and sage green and Kalaree's is blue, red, white and pink. Other t...

Update...

I hadn't updated the blog since Wednesday, I had a couple of things come up that will be explained later in the blog. My defense went fine. As expected there were some items that I had to correct. I had until Friday to get them in. One being my grammar, I have never been very good at writing. Then some mistakes that I made, 2 am writing tends to cause these appartently. Update some charts and add some information on reliability and validity of the measures. So Thursday I did all but the grammar, then Thursday night Mikaela edited it for me and I sent it off. I got feedback today that it looked fine and that I am officially done. WOOOHOOOO!!!!!! This last month has been absolutely horrible. I am so glad that I can finally just be a working women. I have decided that there is no reason for me to watch that new show coming out in the fall called Kid Nation. The idea behind it is that a bunch of kids are given a chance to start their own town without adult supervision. Well ...

Today's the day...

The last three years of my life boils down to one day. How sad is that? it is 1 am and I am still up trying to get everything done. I now have to throw together a PowerPoint and then I can head off to bed. I have been so close today to losing it several times. Kalaree is an angel, she has really stepped up to the plate and makes me so proud to know that she is that kind of a girl. My portfolio ended up being 177 pages. The research is 25 pages. I am so ready to be over with this and pray that it goes quick and painless. I am not sure what I will do if I don't' get the approval. I am so scared that the committee will be like no not good enough, you need to go back and defend again in the fall. I am so emotionally and physically exhausted right now. It is amazing how when you really feel like you have nothing left you can push threw. Guess that is what the Lord means that he won't give us anything that we can't handle. I know that this was all his plan. I c...
